Where’s Woolley – Captain’s Day

A huge thank you to everyone who came along yesterday, heroically missing watching the Open to do so.

As many of you know this was day has been a long time from conception to implementation, and it was odd waking up yesterday knowing the sea of stripes vision was finally going to be realised!

Thank you to Gill, Viv and Al T in particular for helping out at the start/end/in the middle. Al especially has been a great support for several events recently, and is in danger of becoming a professional halfway-houser! We hope to see you back playing soon. Thank you also to the bakers, and to Norma for coordinating their efforts. It takes time, effort and money to do this – please know it is appreciated by us all.😊 Also to Pat, who pops in for the start of many of our events to offer encouragement and support. 👍

It was lovely to see Lottie with us again – next time will probably be the Christmas lunch!! 😂 Welcome also to Adrienne who made her ELGC debut yesterday – her halfway-hut cup was a disco ball…you can tell she was encouraged to join us by Anita Lake! đŸĒŠ

The scores were obscene for a two-scores to count comp. From memory 2nd & 3rd place were on 96 and the winners had 97. The cards were checked and verified, but even so!😲

The raffle raised ÂŖ72 – thank you for the donations. There is now just ÂŖ20 left over from the drinks kitty given to us by the Men so I will upload both to the Just Giving page today.

Al T took photos with each group on the tee and we had fun taking a “Where’s Woolley?” one with each group also. I have attached the best ones, as well as the group photo in which there is a Woolley hiding. 😃

Once again I marvel at the great fun, company and generosity (both in money and spirit!) of Easthampstead Ladies. Thank you all.

Al
